My Thoughts:

This novel was just about perfection in my reading library. It had romance a plenty, danger, love, mystery, and adventure. All wrapped up in the trappings of the Roaring Twenties, not an era that I read a lot in and not in this type of setting of aviation. This was such a fun, wonderful story that I had a real hard time putting it down. In fact, I couldn't.

At first, I was not sure how I would like this story. It had an arranged marriage for a socialite planned by her parents. Geneva wanted to marry for love and to make her own life’s choices, understandably. However, to protect her sister from her coldhearted father, she was willing to go through with his scheme. Much to her surprise though, she found she actually liked her intended, Warren. Not only that but he opens her up to flying as he was a pilot. We get their courtship and eventual marriage as we go back and forth from her present time to her past.

But here is the catch, Warren was murdered, and Geneva is the prime suspect. Geneva’s grief was heart wrenching, and she is on a mission to find out who really took her husband from her. That is where the story begins. I wasn’t sure if I would be crying or what, but this story surprised me in many ways. It so far is my favorite for this year, and it is one that I adored and will stay with me for some time. Though I will say, I kept thinking of that old movie Rocketeer especially during the times Geneva does her wing walking. What a wonderful novel that gave me a different glimpse of the Roaring Twenties.
