My Thoughts:

Life rarely goes the way we plan it. Ryder and Kendall have learned this in painful and realistic ways. Ryder is a single dad taking care of his little boy as his wife has left them for her career. He has moved back in with his parents who are dealing with his mom's cancer diagnosis and treatments. Their home is a bit upside down right now and I really did dislike his ex. I am not a fan of divorced couples and though she was just a very minor character, she was extremely selfish leaving like that.

Kendall is an up-and-coming chef who has a talent, but unfortunately an unscrupulous head chef tried to take advantage of her and she spurned his advances. That did not go well, and he went after her professional reputation. She is now back at her hometown and finds herself helping out Ryder and his family. Not only that but she is using her talents in other ways than what she had planned.

This was a sweet story of how adversity can not only help you grow but also show you a new and better way. I am convinced that when one door closes on your talents, another and better one will open. We just have to be willing to adapt and open our faith filled eyes.
