My Thoughts:
This was definitely a creepy story. A kidnapping and chilling messages with clues that need to be deciphered. This is the third of the series about Erin Delaney a bestselling author. This story also brings in Katie Quinn-Hunter, a profiler from the previous series. This is the first one I have read of all of them. The story did not lose me, but I do like that I can go back and read both sets of stories and get more of their stories.
I don't know what to think about the kidnapper. He was a mixed bag with real issues that I did not see coming. Very interesting circumstances with him, I didn't like him at all, but I did feel pity for him.
There was a race against time and a palpable feeling of fear throughout. I especially felt for Noah, Katie's husband. They had a lot to look forward too and I can't imagine the feeling of not being able to save the person you love the most. Faith played a strong role here, it had to. For the people desperate to save Katie and for Katie herself who really wanted to be saved.
