Review: Life Flight by Lynette Eason

About:

EMS helicopter pilot Penny Carlton is used to high-stress situations, but being forced to land on a mountain in a raging storm with a critical patient--and a serial killer on the loose--tests her skills and her nerve to the limit. She survives with FBI Special Agent Holt Satterfield's help. But she's not out of the woods yet.

In the ensuing days, Penny finds herself under attack. And when news reaches Holt that he may not have gotten his man after all, it will take all he and Penny have to catch a killer--before the killer catches one of them.

My Thoughts:

Hold on to your seats as this high octane read takes off from the first page and does not let up throughout. Penny and Holt have their assignments cut out for them especially when threats to their lives continue.

Penny is an EMS helicopter pilot, and her job is to get the rescue team to the injured. She sees this job as her calling after a tragic accident took her sister's life years ago. She also has quite a high profile past that she is really reluctant to share with anyone, understandably.

Holt is an FBI agent who is on the hunt for an escaped serial killer who once tried to kill him. Not only that but he also has some family issues that he is reluctant to talk about with anyone.

Penny and Holt are somewhat in a relationship before the start of this book. So, as they help each other out and watch one another's backs, they are also trying to have more of a couple time. However, life keeps working against them and just trying to have a simple conversation sometimes proves impossible. I liked how even though they were in serious danger, they still kept living and hoping for a future, especially with one another.

And then there was the surprises they got with a very creepy serial killer. He is not someone to mess with and he has his sights set on them. This was a pretty intense read with some creepiness going on in the background that had me wanting to check my house more than once.

I was provided a copy of this novel from the publisher. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.
