Secrets, secrets, and more secrets. This was a really good thriller with a reporter (Jett) who wants only to print the truth and a lawyer (Savannah) who only wants to play by the rules. These two paths cross more and more as seedy truths and an avenger's ways begin to be uncovered.
Both Jett and Savannah have career driven lives to better help those around them. Jett has been investigating a story that has human trafficking and some high profile people seemingly mixed. But has he gotten all the facts?
Savannah has a case that is dealing with infringement and trade wars for her clients. But when a tragic accident takes place, her case and Jett's investigation entangle. However, Savannah was already involved as one of the men Jett was investigating was her ex-husband.
I liked both of these characters and the fact that they did keep their eyes open to the truth. As for Savannah, her background, her relationship with her ex, her sister, and her niece made me really feel for her. She had a lot on her plate and I really wanted to see something work out for her. But she has to endure a lot before the end.

About the Author
Since the time she could read Nancy Drew, Cara has wanted to write mysteries. In 2005 she attended a book signing at her local Christian bookstore. The rest, as they say, was history. There she met a fellow Indiana writer Colleen Coble. With prompting from her husband, Cara shared her dream with Colleen. Since those infamous words, Cara’s been writing award-winning books. She is currently writing book 33 and dreaming up future books, not hard when she sees what-ifs everywhere.
Cara Putman is an active member of ACFW and gives back to the writing community through her service on Executive Board. She has also been the Indiana ACFW chapter president and served as the Area Coordinator for Indiana.
Cara is also an attorney, full-time lecturer at a Big Ten university, active in women’s ministry, and all around crazy woman. Crazy about God, her husband and her kids that is. She graduated with honors from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (Go Huskers!), George Mason Law School, and Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management.
