Review: My Heart Belongs in Galveston Texas: Madeline's Search by Kathleen Y'Barbo

To Purchase
About the Book:

Dodging bullets takes a simple missing person case to a new level as Jonah Cahill, a Pinkerton agent, and Madeline Latour, an investigative reporter, form a tentative truce in Galveston, Texas, 1880. Are they on to a much bigger story when their best witness is suddenly kidnapped?

My Thoughts:

Madeline’s Search was a unique read and had me turning pages rather quickly. What I liked was that there was a 25 year old mystery that needed to be solved. That is how the prologue started and I was hooked. Next we have a Pinkerton agent, Jonah Cahill, and a reporter, Madeline Latour, who have both been sent to work on this case. Unfortunately for both of them, they were once engaged to be married and both are carrying around broken hearts. Fortunately for me, I liked seeing them working together, getting to know each other, and getting a sneak peek into their past. And this was a delightful romance.

This is not a long read but it certainly is full of much family drama and secrets, buried treasure, lost children, and rumors of pirates. This was a fun one and a hard one to put down. I highly recommend it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review. All views and opinions are my own.
