Meet the Author:

My passion for children's literature stems from 30+ years in education and my re-entry into bedtime stories with the addition of my beautiful grandchildren. I created Charlie as a means for children to learn with Charlie by having a growth mindset when it comes to facing new experiences and learning new things. Children live in a world that is traveling ever faster and my desire is to help them slow down and enjoy childhood through the adventures of Charlie Chaloosy. I hope children have fun with Charlie while engaging their minds through stories that encourage them to read, write, illustrate, and dream a little.

My Thoughts:
Charlie Chaloosy is a little boy who is quite picky. He likes certain foods, has his favorite clothes, and is a bit reluctant to join in any extracurricular activities that are new to him. Even if it looks like fun and might just garner him some new friends.
With fun, bright, and colorful illustrations, little ones are taken along with Charlie as he realizes how restricting his pickiness can be. Lots of things, food, other clothes, and fun are somewhat closed off to him as he simply doesn't want to try them out. I like that the author showed that Charlie just might be a little fearful to try new things out, and maybe that is the way with a lot of children.
As Charlies decides to step out of his comfort zone, he sees how wide and broad his world can be. Yes, new things can be scary. Some of the new things he may not like, and some may become favorites, but at least he tried and made new friends along the way.
I was provided a copy of this storybook by the publisher. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.
