Review: Love and the Dream Come True by Tammy L. Gray

About:

Their faith will face its toughest test yet.

Four years after getting the biggest break of his life, Cameron Lee's music career has taken a nosedive, leaving him two options: become a sellout or give up on his lifelong dream. He reluctantly returns home for his sister's wedding, hoping to avoid his past and find his love for music again.

Single mom Lexie Walters has suffered her fair share of tragedies and setbacks, but she has finally scraped together the money to achieve her dream of going into business with her cousin as an interior designer. When Lexie's life is at an all-time high, she runs into her teenage crush, Cameron Lee.

Lost in the emotional turmoil of failure, Cameron is immediately drawn to Lexie and her infectious smile and optimistic spirit. Moreover, he adores her mouthy, no-holds-barred daughter. But fantasies only last so long, and soon Lexie and Cameron must face the real world, the one fraught with heartbreak, disappointment, and questions that sometimes can only be answered by a leap of faith.

My Thoughts:

Now, we have Cameron's story and I have been looking forward to his. After his devastation with Darcy four years earlier, Cameron has come back home for his little sister's wedding. He is hurting over the past and in his career. He dreads seeing Darcy, especially now that she and Bryson have started their family. It should have been him, or at least he always thought that. But love had other plans and Cameron just hasn't met the right one yet.

Well, technically he did. He has known Lexie since she was a kid, but now she is all grown up. And she has a daughter. Lexie also is still carrying around the huge crush that she has always felt for Cameron. Will he see her as more than his sister's friend? You bet he does, and then the fun, I mean the romance begins.

Cameron has matured in this story, and we can really see it as he checks himself so much more around Lexie then he did with Darcy. I also enjoyed the descriptions of her that he had in his mind. It was so telling of where his heart was before he even realized it mentally. And Lexie, well she was getting her dream come true. The guy of her dreams has noticed her and really likes her.

They are both so mature and at the same time giddy in their relationship. I was so thrilled to see the right one for Cameron and for him to realize this was the best way all along. Now it is not all sunshine and roses for them, they do have some trials to get through along the way. Now my only question is, what about Mason?

I received a copy of this novel from the publisher. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.
