Review: The Liberty Bride by MaryLu Tyndall

To Purchase
About the Book:

Join the adventure through history, romance, and family legacy as the Daughters of the Mayflower continues with The Liberty Bride by MaryLu Tyndall. Lieutenant Owen Masters and Emeline Baratt meet on a British warship as sworn enemies. Where will Emeline place her loyalties when forced to spy against her country?

My Thoughts:

The Liberty Bride was about the secrets we keep and the life of spies during the War of 1812. I have been a long time reader of author Tyndall’s work so I was excited to be back on a seafaring ship and another adventure with her characters. Both Owen and Emmaline are Americans aboard a British ship trying to prove their loyalty and yet get any information they can that will turn the tide of war so that the Americans win. As an American I was really rooting for them even though they played a very dangerous game and I cringed as they did at the British destruction of D.C and how their countrymen were treated.

This is the 6th book in the Daughters of the Mayflower series and I am happy to see that there are at least two more coming soon. All of the books can be read as stand-alones as there can be a passage of several years between them, but I find the history of our great nation within these pages of these stories quite refreshing.

Besides danger and romance, author Tyndall shows that her characters struggle with the same questions about God as people do today and she presents the Gospel in a very straightforward way.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.
