Review: Dark Ambitions by Irene Hannon

To Purchase
About:

When former Army Night Stalker Rick Jordan hires private investigator Heather Shields to help him solve a mystery that began with a trail of blood, a callous murderer will do whatever it takes to stop them—even if it means killing again.

My Thoughts:

Despite it being the third book in the series, this was the first one I read, but that didn't detract from the experience. It was interesting watching Rick Jordan, a former soldier with a big heart, deal with the complications of having a female PI who he was very attracted to and wanted to protect, but also didn't want to be chauvinistic and interfere with the job he was paying her for. But their story was only half the tale, because we were getting four other POVs- a business man preparing to run for president, the wife he adores, and the ex who wants him back. And a single first person POV of the villain killing people behind the scenes who appears to be one of the three.

The climax was adrenaline-pulsing and devastating. Be ye warned.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. I was not required to post a positive review and the opinions are my own.
