My Thoughts:

Welcome back home and to second chances, Deputy Sheriff Lacey Nash is hoping to reconnect with her little girl and become the mom she has missed out on while on active duty. Working with her sheriff stepfather is a bonus as she settles back into smalltown life. This story starts out a bit humorously and Lacey has an unexpected meeting with childhood friend and still very single Caleb Sloane. Yep, the attraction between these two is still there.

Both Lacey and Caleb are wanting others to take them seriously, more so to look at them differently. Lacey is no longer the woman who takes chances, she is a mother and wants to be a good role model for her young daughter. Caleb in the same way, wants his brothers especially to not look at him as the restless little brother anymore. In many ways, Caleb is ready to settle down, he just needs the right push from a certain woman.

This is the first I have read in this family series, and I enjoyed their tight knit little group. There were a few surprises thrown in like Lacey's proposal and what that entailed plus maybe a bonus romance? All in all, this was a fun hometown read that promoted family love, second chances, and a new love or two.
