My Thoughts on Cold Vengeance by Nancy Mehl

About:

When a renowned crime podcaster vanishes without a trace, former FBI behavioral analysts turned private investigators River Ryland and Tony St. Clair are called upon to track her down. As they wade through the evidence she left behind, they unearth a startling connection--she may have discovered the existence of an unknown killer, and he will stop at nothing to carry out a deadly plan.

As the pair delves deeper, they soon find themselves the targets of a relentless enemy determined to silence them. With their lives--and hearts--on the line, can they confront the evil that threatens them before it consumes them both?

My Thoughts:

This was an interesting read of both faith and suspense. There were definitely some darker, creepy vibes going on, especially in the stalker/killer's mind. However, the author does balance that out with the characters faith, which they are not shy about sharing.

Full disclosure, this is the third book in the series, and I have not read the first two. I wish I did, just to get the whole beautiful picture of the team Rylan and St. Clair. That is definitely something I will be rectifying soon.

River Ryland and Tony St. Clair are former FBI agents turned PI's who take on a case of a missing woman, who was looking into cold cases herself. Not only that but River has got a killer after her that gave me the shivers when we got inside his head. He was that creepy. River and Tony also have family and family issues that goes along with life that plays into their character development. And the will they or won't they admit their feelings for one another helped to balance this story on a lighter side. I did find the elements of how they proceeded to investigate the case quite interesting.

I was provided a copy of this book from the publisher. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.
