Review: Beyond the Tides by Liz Johnson

When Meg Whitaker's father decides to sell the family's lobster fishing business to her high school nemesis, she sets out to prove she should take it over instead. My Thoughts:

Welcome back to Prince Edward Island where Meg and Oliver would consider themselves enemies of one another. Actually Meg is the one that pushes the whole enemy situation with Oliver. Due to an incident that happened at the science fair when they were both in high school, which ended up costing Meg some scholarships and awards. She still has not been able to forgive him.

Now her father has thrown a wrench into things. He wants to sell his lobster business to Oliver who has been working faithfully for him some years. Meg who never has had any interest in the business thinks this is a very bad idea. Meg also has some serious motion sickness which was getting mine going as I read this book, so how is she going to run the boats?

Her dad who is dealing with Meg's mother's mysterious illness, makes a deal with Oliver and Meg that they must work together and after that time he will then make his decision. But as Meg and Oliver work together, their relationship changes from enemy, to friend, to lover. But can Oliver believe he is good enough for Meg? And can Meg really trust and forgive Oliver?

This was a fun and swoony romance with some deeper topics like illness and abandonment. I enjoyed coming back to PEI for a visit and this is my new favorite author Johnson story.
