My Thoughts:

The Express Bride continues the series The Daughters of the Mayflower. This time we step back in time to the day of the Pony Express. Starting out as a desperate flight from an abusive husband, a woman and her baby make their way from the known civilization of the day into the wilds of the west.

Secrets abound in this story as the identity of the child is searched for and dangers escalates as counterfeiters play a dangerous game to have their pay day.

Jackie (Jacqueline) Rivers is somewhat of a superwoman in this story. She runs the home station for the Pony Express and takes care of the riders as well as other travelers. My only complaint with her is that she seemed too good to be true. Other than that this was a neat story about a time that no longer exists and about a service that I am glad I got to learn more about.
