Review: Woman of Courage by Wanda E. Brunstetter

To Purchase
About the Book:

Amanda Pearson is on an epic journey in 1837 to become a Quaker missionary in the western wilderness, but the trip may kill her. Also included is the sequel set eighteen years later as Little Fawn also pursues a missionary quest to the Nez Perce Indians.

My Thoughts:

When I picked up Woman of Courage, I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by the adventurous story that waited between these pages. First off, by the synopsis I knew going in that this book would be about a Quaker woman wanting to be a missionary to the Nez Perce Indians. Quaker stories are hit or miss with me, I just recently finished up a really good Quaker series so I was interested in this story. And I must say what a story.

This is the third book this year that has vividly put my mind’s eye in the story- when they were cold I was cold, when they were scared I was scared for them, the synopsis does not even scratch the surface of what this adventure is all about. And bonus: the sequel novella, Woman of Hope which continues the story some years later is included.

I also wanted to point out that the book is presented in a really pretty way which would make for a great gift for a reader in your life or for yourself.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review. All views and opinions are my own.
